A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to electronic filing software provided or approved by the |
|
|
Texas Ethics Commission. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 571, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 571.0673 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 571.0673. RETRIEVAL AND RESETTING OF PASSWORDS USED TO |
|
|
ACCESS ELECTRONIC FILING SOFTWARE. The commission shall ensure |
|
|
that any electronic filing software provided or approved by the |
|
|
commission contains a secure process through which a person using |
|
|
the software to file a report or statement with the commission may |
|
|
electronically retrieve or reset any password used by the person to |
|
|
access the software. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
