A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to requiring a dimensional drawing of leased premises in a
  residential lease.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 92, Property Code, is
  amended by adding Section 92.025 to read as follows:
         Sec. 92.025.  DIMENSIONAL DRAWING OF PREMISES REQUIRED IN
  LEASE. A landlord shall provide to a tenant as part of the lease a
  dimensional drawing that horizontally and vertically identifies or
  describes the dwelling in which the tenant may reside and other
  premises the tenant may use as part of the leased premises.
         SECTION 2.  The change in law made by this Act applies only
  to a lease executed or renewed on or after the effective date of
  this Act. A lease executed or renewed before the effective date of
  this Act is governed by the law in effect at the time the lease was
  executed or renewed, and that law is continued in effect for that
  purpose.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
