A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to including certain home-schooled students in the average |
|
|
daily attendance of a school district. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 42.005, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (h) to read as follows: |
|
|
(h) For purposes of this section, a school district's |
|
|
average daily attendance includes a home-schooled student who takes |
|
|
one or more courses from the district. The commissioner shall adopt |
|
|
rules as necessary to administer this subsection. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
