A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the issuance by reciprocity of a license to practice |
|
|
medical physics to persons who hold a license from the United States |
|
|
armed forces. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 602.211(a), Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) On receipt of an application and fee under Section |
|
|
602.203, the board may waive any prerequisite for obtaining a |
|
|
license to a person who holds a license to practice medical or |
|
|
radiological physics in: |
|
|
(1) another state, territory, or jurisdiction |
|
|
acceptable to the board that has requirements for the licensing of |
|
|
medical or radiological physicists that are substantially the same |
|
|
as the requirements of this chapter; or |
|
|
(2) the United States armed forces, including the |
|
|
United States Coast Guard. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The executive commissioner of the Health and |
|
|
Human Services Commission shall adopt rules to implement Section |
|
|
602.211(a), Occupations Code, as amended by this Act, as soon as |
|
|
practicable after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
