AN ACT
|
|
relating to waivers and grants of credit for the requirements to |
|
obtain certain private security licenses to individuals who hold |
|
security credentials from the United States armed forces. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 1702.1183, Occupations |
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 1702.1183. RECIPROCAL LICENSE FOR CERTAIN [FOREIGN] |
|
APPLICANTS. |
|
SECTION 2. Section 1702.1183, Occupations Code, is amended |
|
by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
(c) The board shall adopt rules under which the board may |
|
waive any prerequisite to obtaining a license for, and credit |
|
experience for a license requirement to, an individual who the |
|
board determines has acceptable experience gained during service in |
|
a branch of the United States armed forces, including the United |
|
States Coast Guard. |
|
SECTION 3. The Texas Private Security Board shall adopt |
|
rules to implement Section 1702.1183(c), Occupations Code, as added |
|
by this Act, as soon as practicable after the effective date of this |
|
Act. |
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
