A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to notice of residential services available for persons |
|
|
with intellectual disabilities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 533.038, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) In addition to the explanation required under |
|
|
Subsection (d), the department shall ensure that each person |
|
|
inquiring about residential services receives: |
|
|
(1) a pamphlet or similar informational material |
|
|
explaining that a state supported living center may be an option |
|
|
available to an individual who is eligible for those services; and |
|
|
(2) information relating to whether appropriate |
|
|
residential services are available in the state supported living |
|
|
center located nearest to the residence of the proposed resident. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
