A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to notice of residential services available for persons
  with intellectual disabilities.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 533.038, Health and Safety Code, is
  amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
         (g)  In addition to the explanation required under
  Subsection (d), the department shall ensure that each person
  inquiring about residential services receives:
               (1)  a pamphlet or similar informational material
  explaining that a state supported living center may be an option
  available to an individual who is eligible for those services; and
               (2)  information relating to whether appropriate
  residential services are available in the state supported living
  center located nearest to the residence of the proposed resident.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
