A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to funding under the Foundation School Program for school |
|
|
district career and technology education courses provided at night |
|
|
or during the summer. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 42.154, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-2) Notwithstanding Section 42.005, for purposes of |
|
|
computing a district's average daily attendance in approved career |
|
|
and technology education programs for the allotment specified by |
|
|
Subsection (a)(1) for students in grades 9 through 12, the |
|
|
commissioner shall include students attending an approved night or |
|
|
summer program of career and technology education. The commissioner |
|
|
shall adopt rules to implement this subsection. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
