A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to minimum jail standards for county jails. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 511.009, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) The commission may not establish minimum standards |
|
|
under this chapter that are more stringent than the state or federal |
|
|
constitution requires, as determined by a specific order or opinion |
|
|
issued by a court of this state or the United States. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
