A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to optional fees imposed on vehicles registered in certain |
|
|
counties to fund transportation projects. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 502.402(b), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The commissioners court of a county by order may impose |
|
|
an additional fee[, not to exceed $10,] for a vehicle registered in |
|
|
the county. The fee may not exceed: |
|
|
(1) $10 in a county described by Subsection (a) with a |
|
|
population of over 700,000; or |
|
|
(2) $20 for any other county described by Subsection |
|
|
(a). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
