A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the designation of super voters. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 11, Election Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Section 11.006 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 11.006. SUPER VOTERS. (a) A qualified voter who |
|
|
during a 10-year period has voted in every primary and general |
|
|
election in this state held in the territory of the voter's |
|
|
residence is a super voter. |
|
|
(b) A super voter's voter registration certificate may |
|
|
contain a notation that the voter is a super voter. |
|
|
(c) The secretary of state may adopt procedures to implement |
|
|
this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
