A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to importation of liquor by local distributors. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 23.01, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A local distributor's permittee may: |
|
|
(1) purchase and import liquor from a distiller, |
|
|
winery, wine bottler, or rectifier who holds a nonresident seller's |
|
|
permit; or |
|
|
(2) place an order to purchase and import liquor with a |
|
|
holder of a manufacturer's agent's permit who is an agent for a |
|
|
person described by Subdivision (1). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
