A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the eligibility of certain early voting ballots voted |
|
|
by mail to be counted. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 87.041, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-1) A ballot sent to an applicant following submission of |
|
|
a federal postcard application under Chapter 101 may not be |
|
|
accepted if it is determined after sending the ballot to the |
|
|
applicant that the applicant was not eligible to be registered with |
|
|
the information provided on the application. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
