A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to reasonable workplace accommodation for employees with |
|
|
certain disabilities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 21.128, Labor Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) For purposes of Subsection (a), "reasonable workplace |
|
|
accommodation" includes any technology, hardware, or software, or |
|
|
upgrades to existing hardware or software, that would enable an |
|
|
individual with a visual or hearing impairment to function properly |
|
|
in the workplace. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
