A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the appropriation of money from the economic |
|
|
stabilization fund to the state highway fund for terminating |
|
|
comprehensive development agreements related to State Highway 130. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Contingent on the receipt by this state of |
|
|
federal funds in the amount of $1.5 Billion to be used for the |
|
|
purposes described by this Act, an amount not to exceed $1.5 billion |
|
|
is appropriated from the economic stabilization fund to the |
|
|
comptroller, in the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2014, for |
|
|
the purpose of depositing that amount to the credit of the state |
|
|
highway fund as money available for use by the Texas Department of |
|
|
Transportation for the purposes of: |
|
|
(1) terminating all comprehensive development |
|
|
agreements relating to construction of or improvements to State |
|
|
Highway 130, Segments 1-6, including payments for debt obligations |
|
|
incurred under an agreement and termination payments under Section |
|
|
371.101, Transportation Code; and |
|
|
(2) converting State Highway 130 into Interstate |
|
|
Highway 35E. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013, but only |
|
|
if it receives a vote of two-thirds of the members present in each |
|
|
house of the legislature, as provided by Section 49-g(m), Article |
|
|
III, Texas Constitution. |
