A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a prohibition on the use of an interlocal agreement to |
|
|
purchase energy or energy-related services. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 791.011(h), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(h) An interlocal contract between a governmental entity |
|
|
and a purchasing cooperative may not be used to purchase: |
|
|
(1) engineering or architectural services; or |
|
|
(2) electricity or electicity-related services. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a purchase made by an interlocal contract on or after September |
|
|
1, 2013. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
