A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the financial stability of recipients of the |
|
|
supplemental nutrition assistance program. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Section 33, Human Resources Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding 33.060 to read as follows: |
|
|
|
|
|
Section 33.060. TREATMENT OF RESOURCES FOR RECIPIENTS. The |
|
|
commission shall disregard the value of all liquid resources and |
|
|
vehicles upon determining initial eligibility and recertification |
|
|
of households for the supplemental nutrition assistance program. |
