HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Teachers make a difference each day with the energy |
|
and creativity they bring to the education of our children; and |
|
WHEREAS, They help keep American democracy alive by laying |
|
the foundation for good citizenship, and they instill in young |
|
people a love of learning; and |
|
WHEREAS, Filling such roles as instructor, motivator, |
|
encourager, and mentor, teachers continue to influence us long |
|
after our school days are over; and |
|
WHEREAS, Few other professionals touch as many lives as |
|
teachers, and it is indeed fitting to recognize these committed men |
|
and women for their contributions to our state's most precious |
|
resource; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby designate the first full week of May as Texas Teacher |
|
Appreciation Week; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That in accordance with the provisions of Section |
|
391.004(d), Government Code, the designation remains in effect |
|
until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is passed. |
