CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot express the heartache felt at the loss |
|
|
of U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Thalia S. Ramirez of San |
|
|
Antonio, who died while bravely serving her country on September 5, |
|
|
2012, at the age of 28; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, |
|
|
82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, |
|
|
North Carolina, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Ramirez lost her life in |
|
|
Logar Province, Afghanistan; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to this |
|
|
nation's servicemen and servicewomen, who make immeasurable |
|
|
sacrifices for their country and who risk their very lives in its |
|
|
behalf; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|
|
forces, Thalia S. Ramirez inspired others with her fortitude, |
|
|
tenacity, and courage; although her death leaves a void in the lives |
|
|
of her loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic |
|
|
Texan close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Thalia |
|
|
S. Ramirez and extend sincere sympathy to all those who mourn her |
|
|
passing; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
|
|
U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Thalia S. Ramirez. |
