A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
supporting the ratification of a proposed amendment to the |
|
|
Constitution of the United States providing for a balanced federal |
|
|
budget. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. The Legislature of the State of Texas by this |
|
|
resolution states its support of and intention to ratify, under |
|
|
Article V of the United States Constitution, an amendment to the |
|
|
Constitution of the United States to require a balanced federal |
|
|
budget as proposed by House Joint Resolution No. ___ or Senate Joint |
|
|
Resolution No. ___ of the ___th Congress of the United States. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The secretary of state of this state shall: |
|
|
(1) notify the archivist of the United States of the |
|
|
action of the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas, Regular |
|
|
Session, 2013, by sending the archivist a copy of this resolution; |
|
|
and |
|
|
(2) send copies of this resolution to the United |
|
|
States senators from Texas, to all United States representatives |
|
|
from Texas, to the vice president of the United States, and to the |
|
|
speaker of the United States House of Representatives with the |
|
|
request that it be printed in full in the Congressional Record. |
