A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment relating to the right to hunt |
|
|
and fish in accordance with state law. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 34 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 34. (a) Every person has the right to hunt and fish in |
|
|
accordance with the laws of this state. |
|
|
(b) The right to hunt and fish does not: |
|
|
(1) create a right to trespass on private property; |
|
|
(2) diminish a right of another person; or |
|
|
(3) diminish the duty of the state to manage wild |
|
|
birds, fish, and game in a manner that ensures sustainable |
|
|
populations of those animals. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2013. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment recognizing the right |
|
|
of a person to hunt and fish in accordance with state law." |
