R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Veteran attorney Kemper Williams, Jr., has been
  honored by the Victoria County Bar Association with its legacy
  award; and
         WHEREAS, This prestigious award is presented biannually to
  the most experienced lawyers in the area in recognition of their
  skill, dedication, and long service to the community; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Williams entered law school at St. Mary's
  University in San Antonio after completing his military service at
  Fort Benning, Georgia; admitted to the state bar in 1958, he has
  been a practicing attorney for 55 years, and he continues to handle
  probate and real estate transactions for his clients; he also
  served the city as mayor for 10 years, from 1963 to 1973; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Williams enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, the late Patricia Tuttle Williams, with
  whom he shared nearly six decades; today, he takes great pride in a
  fine family that has grown to include 4 children, 15 grandchildren,
  and 6 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan's dedication, professionalism,
  and commitment to the highest ideals of the law have greatly
  benefited the citizens of Victoria, and he is truly deserving of
  special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Kemper Williams, Jr., for
  receiving the legacy award from the Victoria County Bar Association
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Williams as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
