R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Veteran attorney Kemper Williams, Jr., has been |
|
honored by the Victoria County Bar Association with its legacy |
|
award; and |
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious award is presented biannually to |
|
the most experienced lawyers in the area in recognition of their |
|
skill, dedication, and long service to the community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams entered law school at St. Mary's |
|
University in San Antonio after completing his military service at |
|
Fort Benning, Georgia; admitted to the state bar in 1958, he has |
|
been a practicing attorney for 55 years, and he continues to handle |
|
probate and real estate transactions for his clients; he also |
|
served the city as mayor for 10 years, from 1963 to 1973; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Williams enjoyed the love |
|
and support of his wife, the late Patricia Tuttle Williams, with |
|
whom he shared nearly six decades; today, he takes great pride in a |
|
fine family that has grown to include 4 children, 15 grandchildren, |
|
and 6 great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan's dedication, professionalism, |
|
and commitment to the highest ideals of the law have greatly |
|
benefited the citizens of Victoria, and he is truly deserving of |
|
special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kemper Williams, Jr., for |
|
receiving the legacy award from the Victoria County Bar Association |
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Williams as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
