R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of San Antonio has contributed to
  the welfare of communities near and far for more than 100 years; and
         WHEREAS, Chartered on November 11, 1912, the Rotary Club of
  San Antonio is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to providing
  humanitarian services and fostering goodwill across the globe; one
  of the largest Rotary clubs in the world, it is funded entirely by
  donations from its members, as well as by friends of the Rotary
  Foundation who share its vision of a better world; and
         WHEREAS, Members contribute to the betterment of the area
  through their work with the San Antonio Zoo and Kingdom for Kids
  playgrounds and through their annual Sam J. Riklin Rotary Diploma
  Plus Scholarships, which help at-risk youth finish high school; San
  Antonio Rotarians have also funded projects to provide health care,
  medical supplies, polio vaccines, food, clean water, education, and
  job training for millions of underprivileged people, particularly
  in developing countries; moreover, they have promoted
  international understanding through scholarships, exchange
  programs, and humanitarian grants; and
         WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of San Antonio's current membership
  numbers more than 500 men and women; guided by the 2012-2013 Rotary
  theme "Peace Through Service," they are engaged in another year of
  championing vital causes through volunteer work and fund-raising;
  and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the Rotary tradition, the Rotary Club
  of San Antonio has greatly enhanced the lives of countless people
  throughout its century-long history, and it is a pleasure to honor
  the organization on the occasion of this milestone year; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 100th anniversary of the
  founding of the Rotary Club of San Antonio and extend to its members
  sincere best wishes for continued success with their many good
  works; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Rotary Club of San Antonio as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
