R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of Tommy Edmondson of Arlington on |
|
January 7, 2012, at the age of 64, has brought great sorrow to his |
|
loved ones and his many friends, former students, and admirers; and |
|
WHEREAS, Coach Ed, or "Ched" as he was affectionately known, |
|
encouraged and influenced countless young people throughout his |
|
35-year career as a teacher, coach, and mentor with the Arlington |
|
Independent School District, the last 15 of which he spent coaching |
|
his favorite sport--girls softball--at Arlington High School; and |
|
WHEREAS, He was devoted to his family and to his |
|
student-athletes, and he will always be remembered for his |
|
enthusiasm, his integrity, and his engaging smile; and |
|
WHEREAS, Though it is impossible to gauge the full effect of a |
|
man's life, some individuals leave their unmistakable mark on the |
|
world as they move through it, and the contributions of Coach |
|
Edmondson will long resonate in the lives of all who knew him; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Thomas Carson |
|
Edmondson, Jr., and extend sincere condolences to the members of |
|
his family: to his wife, Carmela; to his children, Brett, Leah, |
|
Cambria, John, Nicholas, and Victoria; to his grandchildren, |
|
Lindsey, Caden, Mackenzie, and Beau; and to his other relatives and |
|
many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Thomas |
|
Carson Edmondson, Jr. |
