R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Esteemed educator Dr. Charles Richard Knerr of |
|
Pantego passed away on January 2, 2012, at the age of 64; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on July 17, 1947, in Munich, Germany, Dr. Knerr |
|
was a loving husband to his wife, Linda, and a devoted father to his |
|
sons, Andrew and Charles; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Knerr enjoyed a notable career as a professor of |
|
political science at The University of Texas at Arlington; he was |
|
renowned for his colorful teaching style as well as for his success |
|
in mentoring students and helping them to realize their full |
|
potential; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his other achievements, he cofounded |
|
the American Collegiate Moot Court Association in 2001; the |
|
organization sponsors an annual championship tournament in which |
|
undergraduate students deliver simulated arguments in supreme |
|
court cases; and |
|
WHEREAS, With his passion, dedication, and wit, Charlie Knerr |
|
was a friend and inspiration to many people, and he leaves behind a |
|
legacy that will continue to resonate for years to come; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Richard Knerr |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Linda Knerr; to his sons, Andrew and Charles Knerr; to his |
|
mother, Anna Knerr; to his brother, Jerry Knerr; and to his other |
|
relatives, friends, and former students; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dr. Charles |
|
Knerr. |
