R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  death of James L. Bearden of Arlington on November 9, 2011, at the
  age of 60; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Dallas on August 20, 1951, Mr. Bearden was
  the son of Clarence Wesley Bearden and Wanda Fae Bedwell Bearden;
  and
         WHEREAS, James Bearden served as an intelligence officer in
  the military and subsequently built a career as a private
  investigator and security expert; along the way, he earned a
  bachelor's degree in political science from The University of Texas
  at Arlington and then continued his education at the Texas Wesleyan
  School of Law, where he earned a degree in 2001; he went on to enter
  private practice and to serve as General Counsel for the Texas
  Association of Licensed Investigators; and
         WHEREAS, Involved in his community, Mr. Bearden variously
  shared his time and talents as an assistant scoutmaster, as
  president of the Fielder Museum, and as a member of the UTA Alumni
  Association Board of Directors; moreover, he was a valued
  congregant of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, In the early 1970s, Mr. Bearden married Shana Lesa
  Bearden, and the couple shared 37 years together, until her death in
  2009; they were blessed with four children, Wes, Brad, April, and
  Chrissy, and their family later grew to include three
  grandchildren, Lily, Bella, and Maddie; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family and his community,
  James Bearden made a meaningful difference in the lives of his loved
  ones and fellow citizens alike, and he leaves behind a legacy that
  will be treasured for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James L. Bearden and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  sons, Wes Bearden and his wife, Antoinette, and Brad Bearden and his
  fiancee, Tiffani Brooks; to his daughters, April Flowers and her
  husband, T. J., and Chrissy Bailey and her husband, Doug; to his
  grandchildren, Lily and Maddie Flowers and Bella Bearden; to his
  brother, Dan Bearden, and his wife, Amy; to his sisters, Wanda
  Burton and Bonnie Sims; and to his other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James L.
  Bearden.
