R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, College Park Center at The University of Texas at
  Arlington opened in February 2012, and this outstanding facility is
  indeed a welcome addition to the city; and
         WHEREAS, College Park Center is the new home of the UTA men's
  and women's basketball teams and the volleyball team, and the
  7,000-seat arena in downtown Arlington hosts a range of other
  events as well, including concerts, speaking engagements, and
  graduation ceremonies; and
         WHEREAS, The center is the focal point of the College Park
  District, which incorporates housing for 500 students, an
  environmentally sustainable park, a parking garage, and retail and
  office space; in addition to its innovative design, the buildings
  in the 20-acre development maximize energy efficiency by employing
  the latest innovations in green technology; and
         WHEREAS, The College Park District was brought to fruition
  through the shared vision and dedicated efforts of the university,
  the City of Arlington, First Baptist Church Arlington, and a number
  of notable organizations and community leaders; working together,
  they have created a truly impressive urban showpiece that is sure to
  be a hub of activity and growth for decades to come; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the opening of College Park Center
  at The University of Texas at Arlington and congratulate all those
  involved in the completion of this project for a job well done; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the university as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
