R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, In an outstanding display of skill and
  determination, the Lady Lions volleyball team of Grace Preparatory
  Academy in Arlington captured the Texas Association of Private and
  Parochial Schools 4A state championship on November 3, 2012; and
         WHEREAS, Grace Prep reached the title match after besting one
  of the tournament favorites, Prince of Peace Christian School of
  Carrollton, in the semifinal round; that set the stage for the Lady
  Lions to play the team from St. Joseph High School in Victoria for
  the championship; and
         WHEREAS, The Lady Lions took the first two games of the match
  before narrowly dropping the third, but they rallied for a 25-17 win
  in the next set to secure the 4A crown; the victory capped a
  thrilling postseason during which Grace Prep lost only two games
  and displayed the teamwork emblematic of their motto, "one family";
  and
         WHEREAS, Senior Taylor Wright was named to the All-Tournament
  Team along with juniors Brooke Manley and McLayne Craig and
  sophomore Hanna Hester; vital contributions were also made
  throughout the season by the other members of the Grace Prep roster,
  and the team benefited from the superb coaching of Sandy Kelm; and
         WHEREAS, The state tournament triumph is a testament to the
  skill and hard work of the Lady Lions volleyball players, and these
  exceptional athletes are a source of tremendous pride to their
  school and to their many community supporters; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Grace Preparatory Academy
  volleyball team on winning the Texas Association of Private and
  Parochial Schools 4A state championship and extend to the team's
  players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Lady Lions as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
