R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Residents of Cedar Park greatly benefited from the
  leadership of mayor and former city council member Bob Lemon, who
  concluded his tenure in May 2012; and
         WHEREAS, Bob Lemon was first elected to the Cedar Park City
  Council in 1995, serving as mayor pro tempore from 1997 to 1999; in
  2005, he returned to public service and successfully ran for mayor
  of Cedar Park; and
         WHEREAS, During his terms both as mayor and as a member of the
  city council, this esteemed Texan worked to foster economic growth
  and to improve transportation and infrastructure during a period
  when Cedar Park's population rose from less than 15,000 to some
  54,000; moreover, he oversaw a number of major developments,
  including the Cedar Park Center arena and the Cedar Park Regional
  Medical Center; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his service in municipal government,
  Mayor Lemon has participated in the Williamson County Senate
  District No. 25 Convention and the Texas Republican State
  Convention; he has also served as a board member of the Cedar Park
  Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the Cedar Park Athletics and
  Fellowship of Christian Athletes booster clubs, and as president
  and vice president of the Buttercup Creek Homeowners Association;
  and
         WHEREAS, Since 1977, Bob Lemon has enjoyed a successful
  career as a software engineer; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the
  support of his wife, Patti, who is also highly active in the
  community, and the couple take great pride in their three
  daughters, Grace, Faith, and Rachael Hope; and
         WHEREAS, Mayor Lemon has distinguished himself through his
  outstanding record of public service and civic engagement, and in
  so doing, he has helped to make Cedar Park an even better place to
  live and work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Bob Lemon for his contributions to the
  city of Cedar Park and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mayor Lemon as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
