R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Jim and Mary Alice |
|
Sanders of Midland celebrated this joyous milestone in their |
|
marriage on December 23, 2012; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders first met as elementary school |
|
students in Delhi, Oklahoma; joined in matrimony in 1952, they have |
|
since been blessed with a treasured family that includes two |
|
children and their spouses, Greg and Deborah Sanders and Janis and |
|
Ken Dickeson, as well as two grandchildren, Dawn Dickeson McNair |
|
and her husband, Martin, and Derek Dickeson; and |
|
WHEREAS, Now retired, Mr. Sanders worked for Exxon and |
|
Mrs. Sanders taught at Midland High School; today, they enjoy |
|
playing golf, and they divide their time between Midland, where |
|
they worship at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, and their home |
|
in Oklahoma; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders have enjoyed six decades of |
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jim and Mary Alice Sanders on their |
|
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Sanders as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
