R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Art and Georgia "Jody" Cook of Lubbock |
|
|
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 31, 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Art Cook and the former Jody Kennedy were united in |
|
|
matrimony in 1952; over the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling |
|
|
marriage that has been made even richer with the expansion of their |
|
|
family to include their sons, Shane and Dennis, their daughters, |
|
|
Terry and Kelly, their daughters-in-law, Jan and Becky, their |
|
|
son-in-law, Garry, and their seven grandchildren and four |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to each other, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Art and Jody Cook on their 60th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cook as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
