R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Joe and Gwen Lewis of Irving |
|
|
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on December 24, 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis were united in matrimony in 1947; |
|
|
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that |
|
|
has been made even richer with the addition of two children, Vicki |
|
|
Lamp and Joe Lewis, Jr., as well as five grandchildren and six |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Longtime Irving residents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis both |
|
|
worked in manufacturing management before establishing Ajay's |
|
|
Irrigation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past six and a half decades, this devoted husband |
|
|
and wife have remained constant in their commitment to each other, |
|
|
and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's |
|
|
challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Gwen Lewis on their 65th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lewis as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
