R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A delegation from Harmony Science Academy of Grand |
|
|
Prairie is visiting the State Capitol on January 28, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 2000, Harmony Science Academy is part of |
|
|
the Harmony School System, which serves more than 25,000 students |
|
|
at 38 campuses throughout Texas; each institution is dedicated to |
|
|
helping students achieve their full potential in all subjects, with |
|
|
special emphasis on mathematics, science, engineering, and |
|
|
computer technology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Harmony Science Academy of Grand Prairie has been |
|
|
rated "Recognized" by the Texas Education Agency, and its students |
|
|
have excelled in competitions and have earned top honors across the |
|
|
state; recently, Eman Alasadi placed third at the 2012 state |
|
|
science fair, and Maia Ogembo, Pearish Nailor, and Le Hoang |
|
|
together won second place at a 2013 Science Olympiad Invitational |
|
|
Tournament; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Committed to its innovative, high-quality system of |
|
|
education, Harmony Science Academy is building a solid foundation |
|
|
for the future achievement of many young Texans; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby welcome the delegates from Harmony Science |
|
|
Academy of Grand Prairie to the State Capitol and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for a memorable and educational stay in Austin; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
