R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close when Carmen Newbill Boyd of Amarillo passed away on July 16,
  2012, at the age of 50; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Joe and Sue Newbill, the former Carmen
  Newbill was raised in Vega and graduated with the Class of 1980 from
  Vega High School; and
         WHEREAS, She attended Texas Tech University and the Methodist
  Hospital School of Nursing in Lubbock and went on to earn a
  bachelor's degree in nursing from West Texas State University; Ms.
  Boyd served the medical community in Amarillo as a registered nurse
  for nearly three decades; a highlight of her career was the five
  years she spent as a vocational health occupations teacher with the
  Canyon Independent School District at Randall High School; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, she enjoyed the love and
  support of her husband, Eddie Boyd, with whom she shared nearly a
  quarter-century of marriage; devoted to her family, Ms. Boyd was
  the loving mother of two children, Caroline and David, and she
  especially enjoyed cheering them on in their many school and
  extracurricular activities; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Carmen Boyd
  will remember the way she touched their lives with her deep faith
  and caring nature, and she will forever hold a treasured place in
  their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Carmen Newbill Boyd
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Eddie Boyd; to her children, Caroline and David; to her
  mother, Sue Hall, and her husband, Gerald; to her sister, Kim Cook,
  and her husband, Scotty; to her stepbrothers, Mike and Steve Hall;
  to her in-laws, Donnie, Lera, and Ernie Boyd; to her aunt, June
  Ehresman, and her husband, Allen; to her close friends, Julie Gwyn
  and Michele Barton; and to her many other friends and relatives;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Carmen
  Newbill Boyd.
