R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The citizens of Moore County lost an esteemed |
|
community leader with the death of retired sheriff H. T. Montgomery |
|
on June 3, 2012; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in 1948 in Oklahoma, "Ted" Montgomery was the |
|
son of Thomas and Juanita Bradley Montgomery; he married Marguerite |
|
Foster in 1969, and the couple became the parents of two beloved |
|
sons; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Montgomery served for many years as the sheriff |
|
of Moore County in the Panhandle, and he was a life member of the |
|
Sheriffs' Association of Texas; he and his wife lived in Chandler, |
|
where they worshiped at First Baptist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ted Montgomery distinguished himself as a dedicated |
|
public servant, and he is remembered with great admiration and |
|
deeply missed; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of H. T. Montgomery and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of |
|
42 years, Marguerite Montgomery; to his son, Shelton Montgomery; to |
|
his brothers, Robert, Duane, and Roy Dale Montgomery; and to his |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of H. T. |
|
Montgomery. |
