R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Russell Pennington of the Amarillo Independent |
|
|
School District received well-deserved recognition when he was |
|
|
named a Teacher of the Year by the Region 16 Education Service |
|
|
Center in August 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The winners of these prestigious annual awards are |
|
|
first nominated for consideration by their fellow faculty members, |
|
|
and they advance through district selections before becoming |
|
|
eligible for the regional honor; Mr. Pennington was picked from a |
|
|
field of six to earn the Secondary Teacher of the Year title; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A geometry instructor at Caprock High School, this |
|
|
outstanding educator focuses on building confidence and |
|
|
self-esteem among the young people in his classes so that they feel |
|
|
more capable of mastering the subject matter at hand; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his creativity, energy, and |
|
|
resourcefulness, Russell Pennington has inspired in his students a |
|
|
love of learning that will serve them well throughout their lives; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Russell Pennington on his |
|
|
selection as a Teacher of the Year by the Region 16 Education |
|
|
Service Center and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success with his important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Pennington as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
