R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Mediators is holding its
  Annual Conference in Dallas on February 22 and 23, 2013, and this
  occasion provides a fitting opportunity to pay tribute to the vital
  role that professional mediators play in resolving civil disputes;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mediators work to facilitate communication between
  parties involved in a wide range of disagreements, with the goal of
  reaching a fair and equitable settlement that fits the needs of all
  participants; as mediation often serves as an alternative to
  litigation, it can also be an effective way of reducing backlog in
  the justice system; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1985, the Texas Association of
  Mediators represents mediators from all professional backgrounds
  and practice areas; in addition to promoting the use of mediation,
  the organization sponsors training opportunities with renowned
  leaders in the field; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Mediators, its membership,
  and mediators across the state have helped to peacefully resolve
  countless conflicts with creative and effective solutions, and in
  so doing, they have greatly benefited their fellow citizens; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize February 22 and 23, 2013, as Texas
  Association of Mediators Days in the State of Texas and extend to
  all those attending the annual conference sincere best wishes for a
  meaningful and memorable event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
