R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Linda Uecker retired as district clerk of Kerr
  County on January 31, 2013, drawing to a close a notable career in
  public service that spanned 45 years; and
         WHEREAS, A native German Texan, Linda Uecker has lived in and
  worked for Kerr County since 1968; she was elected district clerk in
  1986 and served the county well throughout her decades in the
  position; she has been named "Outstanding District Clerk" of Texas
  by the County and District Clerk's Association of Texas and is a
  member of that organization, has chaired its legislative committee,
  and served as its director for Region IV; and
         WHEREAS, During her long tenure as district clerk, Mrs.
  Uecker was appointed to serve on various groups, including the
  Texas State Library's Local Government Records Committee, the
  attorney general's Integrated Child Support System Advisory
  Council, and the Texas Supreme Court's task force to aid the
  Commission on Judicial Efficiency, and she is a founding member of
  the Texas Association of Child Support Registries; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her many professional
  responsibilities, Mrs. Uecker is highly active in her community;
  she is a charter member and member of the board of the Hill Country
  Alternative Dispute Resolution Center, sits on the board of the
  Hilco Federal Credit Union, has served as president of the Texas
  District Court Alliance, and was on the board of the Hill Country
  Crisis Council; additionally, she is a member of the Women's
  Division Chamber of Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Uecker is a valued member of the Zion Lutheran
  Church, where she has been a teacher and a member of the parish
  education board and Zion Preschool board; in her retirement, she
  looks forward to spending more time with her husband, two children,
  and two grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
  contributions of committed public servants, and Linda Uecker may
  indeed take pride in her accomplishments as she begins the next
  exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Linda Uecker on her retirement as Kerr
  County district clerk and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Uecker as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
