R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Little Elm has been named the safest large city in |
|
Texas by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Based on statistics from the FBI's Uniform Crime |
|
Report, Little Elm had the lowest number of combined violent and |
|
property crimes in 2011 of any city in the Lone Star State with a |
|
population over 25,000; moreover, the city placed 18th in terms of |
|
the lowest number of such crimes in the nation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Chief Waylan Rhodes, the |
|
Little Elm Police Department has built an outstanding reputation, |
|
and its efforts have been bolstered by partnerships with area |
|
residents and such programs as Neighborhood Crime Watch, Business |
|
Crime Watch, and National Night Out; and |
|
WHEREAS, The public servants and dedicated volunteers of |
|
Little Elm have played a vital role in fostering a safe and peaceful |
|
community, and they may take great pride in this impressive |
|
designation; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the city of Little Elm on earning |
|
recognition as the safest large city in Texas and extend to its |
|
police, civilian staff, and residents best wishes for continued |
|
success. |
