R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Representatives of El Paso County Emergency |
|
Services Districts 1 and 2 are visiting the State Capitol on |
|
February 12, 2013; and |
|
WHEREAS, Protecting more than 48,000 area residents, the men |
|
and women of Emergency Services Districts 1 and 2 respond to over |
|
7,000 calls per year; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated ESD staff members give selflessly of their |
|
time and expertise to benefit their fellow citizens; becoming a |
|
volunteer firefighter requires hundreds of hours of training and an |
|
exceptional commitment to helping others; and |
|
WHEREAS, In order to offer first aid and fire protection, |
|
these ESD volunteers spend significant amounts of time away from |
|
their homes and families; they must remain calm, focused, and |
|
efficient in dangerous and stressful situations, and they often |
|
place the health and well-being of others above their own personal |
|
safety; and |
|
WHEREAS, Volunteer firefighting is a brave and noble calling, |
|
and through their skill, professionalism, and devotion to public |
|
service, the members of El Paso County Emergency Services Districts |
|
1 and 2 have earned the deep gratitude of their fellow citizens; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor the firefighters of El Paso County |
|
Emergency Services Districts 1 and 2 for their outstanding |
|
contributions to public safety and extend sincere best wishes for a |
|
productive and enjoyable visit to Austin; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the districts as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
