R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Representatives of El Paso County Emergency
  Services Districts 1 and 2 are visiting the State Capitol on
  February 12, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Protecting more than 48,000 area residents, the men
  and women of Emergency Services Districts 1 and 2 respond to over
  7,000 calls per year; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated ESD staff members give selflessly of their
  time and expertise to benefit their fellow citizens; becoming a
  volunteer firefighter requires hundreds of hours of training and an
  exceptional commitment to helping others; and
         WHEREAS, In order to offer first aid and fire protection,
  these ESD volunteers spend significant amounts of time away from
  their homes and families; they must remain calm, focused, and
  efficient in dangerous and stressful situations, and they often
  place the health and well-being of others above their own personal
  safety; and
         WHEREAS, Volunteer firefighting is a brave and noble calling,
  and through their skill, professionalism, and devotion to public
  service, the members of El Paso County Emergency Services Districts
  1 and 2 have earned the deep gratitude of their fellow citizens;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the firefighters of El Paso County
  Emergency Services Districts 1 and 2 for their outstanding
  contributions to public safety and extend sincere best wishes for a
  productive and enjoyable visit to Austin; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the districts as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
