H.R. No. 413
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Matthew Reynolds and Justin Shen, seniors at Waco
  High School, have been selected as 2013 Texas All-State Choir
  members by the Texas Music Educators Association, and this fine
  showing indeed merits special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, The All-State designation is the highest honor that
  a Texas music student can receive; more than 55,000 students from
  across the state audition for about 1,500 places in one of 13
  All-State bands, orchestras, and choirs, and those who win the
  coveted recognition attend the TMEA clinic in February in San
  Antonio, where they perform in concert; and
         WHEREAS, Both Matthew Reynolds and Justin Shen are members of
  the a cappella and show choirs at Waco High School; Mr. Reynolds,
  who has now been chosen twice for All-State Choir, recently starred
  in the WHS production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor
  Dreamcoat, while Mr. Shen played the Baker in the school's
  production of Into the Woods; and
         WHEREAS, Both students benefit from the instruction of Carrie
  Forehand and Michelle Espinosa; and
         WHEREAS, These young Texans are a source of pride to their
  families, teachers, and fellow students, and their accomplishments
  are truly worthy of commendation; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Matthew Reynolds and Justin Shen on
  their selection as members of the 2013 Texas Music Educators
  Association All-State Choir and extend to them sincere best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Shen as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
