R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
  temper the profound sadness felt by the loved ones of George San
  Roman Gutierrez of San Antonio, who passed away on October 1, 2012,
  at the age of 57; and
         WHEREAS, Born in San Antonio on January 4, 1955, to Aurelio
  and Beatrice Gutierrez, George Gutierrez grew up in a large family
  with the companionship of five brothers and seven sisters; he
  graduated from Lanier High School in 1973, and he went on to obtain
  a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a juris
  doctorate from The University of Texas School of Law; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gutierrez conducted his law practice with the
  belief that everyone has an equal right to defend themselves,
  regardless of their circumstances, and he was known to waive his
  fees for a particularly needy client; and
         WHEREAS, A person of strong faith, Mr. Gutierrez attended
  mass daily at San Fernando Cathedral; he shared his time and energy
  as a mentor for at-risk students and encouraged them to get involved
  in community service projects; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Gutierrez was blessed with
  the love and support of his wife, Juanita, and their three children,
  George, Maria Anastacia, and Caterina Ysabel; and
         WHEREAS, With his remarkable strength, wisdom, and
  compassion, George Gutierrez touched the lives of many, and his
  legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate
  enough to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of George San Roman
  Gutierrez and extend deepest condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Juanita Gutierrez; to his son, George
  Gutierrez, Jr.; to his daughters, Maria Anastacia and Caterina
  Ysabel Gutierrez; to his brothers, Aurelio, Richard, Guillermo,
  Juan Bruno, and Victor; to his sisters, Lucille, Isabel, Guadalupe,
  Juanita Maria, Dora, Rita, and Helen; and to his other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of George
  Gutierrez.
