R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A number of current and former McGregor High School |
|
|
students received a great honor when their artwork was published |
|
|
through the Cards for Kids program of Cook Children's Medical |
|
|
Center in Fort Worth in 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Woman's Board of the medical |
|
|
center, the Cards for Kids initiative promotes holiday-themed |
|
|
greeting cards designed by young artists; proceeds from sales |
|
|
support the board's mission of enhancing the child-friendly |
|
|
environment at the medical center; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 2012 designs included drawings from McGregor |
|
|
High School students Maria Torres, Alan Hollingsworth, Celestino |
|
|
Trejo, Maria and Raunel Suarez, Brenna Oakes, Lily Martinez, |
|
|
Jessika Foit, and Courtney White; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These notable Texans have demonstrated talent and |
|
|
creativity while contributing to the well-being of others, and they |
|
|
may take justifiable pride in their achievement; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the current and former McGregor |
|
|
High School students whose artwork was published by the Cook |
|
|
Children's Medical Center Cards for Kids program in 2012 and extend |
|
|
to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
