R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ron and Barbara Garland have been named the 2012 |
|
|
Citizens of the Year by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Valued residents of Georgetown since 2009, the |
|
|
Garlands are active in the local Rotary Club; together, they have |
|
|
co-chaired the organization's auction and barbecue, and their many |
|
|
contributions to their fellow residents embody the club motto of |
|
|
"Service Above Self"; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Garland, who serves as Rotary president, has |
|
|
further shared his time with the Boy Scouts of America, WC4C, and |
|
|
the Georgetown Ethics Commission; he is also a leader in the chamber |
|
|
of commerce and Sun City; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The vitality of a community depends in large measure |
|
|
on the dedication and leadership of its citizens, and through their |
|
|
exceptional efforts, Ron and Barbara Garland are setting an example |
|
|
of civic engagement to which others may aspire; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Barbara and Ron Garland on being named the |
|
|
2012 Citizens of the Year by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and |
|
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
|
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Garland as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
