R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sarah Elizabeth Russell of American Heritage Girls |
|
Troop No. 1136 in Parker County has attained the American Heritage |
|
Girls Stars and Stripes Award, the organization's highest |
|
commendation; and |
|
WHEREAS, To achieve this distinction, Ms. Russell |
|
successfully met a series of requirements emphasizing community |
|
service, personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and |
|
leadership skills, a program that reflects AHG's mission to "build |
|
women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and |
|
country"; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Darrel and LeAnn Russell, this fine |
|
young Texan has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the ideals |
|
of the American Heritage Girls program, earning 28 badges and 22 |
|
service stars as she pursued the Stars and Stripes Award; for her |
|
major project, she coordinated the creation of more than 200 |
|
crocheted, knitted, or hand-sewn items for premature babies at the |
|
neonatal intensive care unit at John Peter Smith Hospital; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Russell has proven herself to be an exemplary |
|
member of the American Heritage Girls and she may indeed reflect |
|
with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sarah Elizabeth Russell on her |
|
receipt of the Stars and Stripes Award and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Russell as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
