R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned over |
|
|
five decades, Steve and Cissy Powell of Dallas celebrated their |
|
|
52nd wedding anniversary on December 30, 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Steve Powell and the former Cissy Thompson exchanged |
|
|
the vows of matrimony at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal |
|
|
Church in Dallas on that memorable day in 1960, following three |
|
|
ardent months of courtship; over the course of their marriage, the |
|
|
couple have found in each other a devoted life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Powell count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes their two children, Priscilla and Casey, |
|
|
with whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past 52 years, this loyal |
|
|
husband and wife can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|
|
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |
|
|
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Steve and Cissy Powell on their |
|
|
52nd wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Powell as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
