R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sam and Carolyn Owings of Lubbock celebrated their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary on December 23, 2012, and they may indeed |
|
|
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sam Owings and the former Carolyn Watkins exchanged |
|
|
the vows of matrimony in 1962, and over the course of their |
|
|
marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Owings count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes their children, Scott Owings and Shelly |
|
|
Stinnett, and their two grandchildren, with whom they treasure |
|
|
sharing many special occasions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Owings have brought |
|
|
to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it is a |
|
|
pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sam and Carolyn Owings on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Owings as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
