R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Alice Lee has been chosen to receive the 2013
  Community Service Award from the Chinese Professional Club of
  Houston; and
         WHEREAS, Since 2009, Ms. Lee has been employed as the
  director of marketing and business development with the Greater
  Sharpstown Management District in western Harris County; she
  previously worked as a community development liaison with the Asia
  Society Texas Center, as a fund development consultant with the
  Chinese Community Center, and as a key staffer in the offices of a
  number of Houston city council members; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Lee has shared her time and talents with a host
  of civic organizations as well; she has served as president of the
  Asian Pacific American Heritage Association, the Kolter Elementary
  School Parent-Teacher Organization, and Women Professionals in
  Government, as co-president of the Association of Chinese
  Organizations of Houston, as chair of the Chinese American Relief
  Effort, and as a member of the boards of the Asian American
  Coalition, the Chinese Community Center, and the OCA--Greater
  Houston Chapter; in addition, she has held numerous positions in
  the leadership of the Chinese Professional Club of Houston, serving
  as vice president, gala chair, and scholarship committee chair; and
         WHEREAS, Texans benefit each day from the contributions of
  those civic leaders who improve the quality of life in their
  communities, and Alice Lee is indeed deserving of commendation for
  her work in behalf of her fellow residents; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Alice Lee on her receipt of the
  2013 Community Service Award from the Chinese Professional Club of
  Houston and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Lee as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
