R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Nancy Hernandez of Dallas has been chosen to receive |
|
|
a 2013 Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This notable young Texan, who will graduate this |
|
|
spring and attend college in the fall, is being recognized for her |
|
|
achievements at a special banquet in Austin on February 25, 2013; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Black Caucus was established |
|
|
in 1973 to address issues of concern to the state's African American |
|
|
community; each biennium, the group awards scholarships to |
|
|
exceptional high school students from across the state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Hernandez has |
|
|
demonstrated determination and perseverance in the pursuit of her |
|
|
goals, and she may indeed look forward to a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Nancy Hernandez on her receipt of a |
|
|
Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
