R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Leroy and Jackie Palmer of San Angelo are observing
  a joyous milestone in their marriage on February 25, 2013, when they
  celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, Leroy H. Palmer and the former Jackie Lou Cutright
  attended school together in Jal, New Mexico, after their parents
  moved there during World War II; united in matrimony on that special
  day in 1949, the couple moved to Texas shortly thereafter; they have
  been blessed with two sons, Deral and his wife, Linda, and Keith and
  his wife, Fay, and they have shared in the joy of welcoming into
  their family 5 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Palmer began his career with the El Paso Natural
  Gas Company when he was still a teenager; over the course of his 39
  years with the company, he was transferred to Algeria, and the
  family has many fond memories of their four years there; it was in
  Algeria that Mrs. Palmer learned to paint fine china, a hobby she
  still enjoys today; Mr. Palmer has acquired a love for antique cars,
  and he takes great pleasure in making an annual drive to Georgia and
  back in his vintage 1931 Ford Model A; Mr. and Mrs. Palmer are both
  valued members of Southland Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, For 64 years, this devoted couple have nurtured a
  strong bond of love and respect, and as they look back fondly on
  many happy times and cherished family memories, it is indeed a
  pleasure to join in honoring them on their enduring union; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Leroy and Jackie Palmer on their
  64th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Palmer as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
